KEN'S ARTISAN PIZZA, our latest project. fix worked closely with owner Ken Forkish to create a warm, timeless interior. Central to the space is a wood fired oven, with tables and bar crafted from old-growth Douglas fir that was once part of the Big Dipper roller coaster that towered over Jantzen Beach from 1928 until 1970. Custom bar stools and an uphostered banquet offer soft seating. Wood for the oven is stored in hand-forged steel racks. Vintage 1960s maple and bent ply Thonet chairs sourced from the Jantzen Swimwear lunch room comfortably populate the farmhouse tables. Hanging lamps made from paint cans, a nod to the building's history, and enormous windows opening to the outdoors illuminate the space.
